Yuvraj Singh is a legendary Indian cricketer celebrated for his explosive batting, versatile all-round skills, and incredible resilience. Born on December 12, 1981, in Chandigarh, India, Yuvraj made his mark in international cricket with powerful performances in all formats, playing for India from 2000 to 2019. He scored 11,778 runs and took 148 wickets across international matches. His left-handed aggression and ability to change games made him one of India’s greatest match-winners
Yuvraj is most famous for hitting six consecutive sixes in an over against England’s Stuart Broad during the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup—a world record in international cricket. He also smashed the fastest-ever fifty in a T20I (12 balls) in the same match. His career peaked during the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament, khelostar,scoring 362 runs and taking 15 wickets as India lifted the trophy. He remains the only player to score a fifty and take five wickets in the same World Cup match.
Yuvraj bravely overcame a rare germ-cell cancer diagnosed after the 2011 World Cup, returning to the game after nearly a year of treatment. He was honored with the Arjuna Award (2012) and Padma Shri (2014), recognizing his contributions to cricket. He retired from international play in 2019, leaving a legacy as an inspiring fighter and champion.
